Running faucet - temporary solution
A side-running tap is annoying and must be repaired in most cases expertly. So the following tip only serves as a temporary solution. The cause of the running faucet is usually due to a defective ceramic cartridge inside the single lever mixer. (With a good guide from the internet, a new cartridge can also be easily installed by a layman!) But until then you can make life easier with this tip.
Manual:
- To prevent the pool of water around our faucet in the bathroom, I simply folded a dishcloth twice and fixed it with a cut white rubber band around the faucet.
- It is important that the rubber band is tied together rather short so that the cloth also fits tightly.
- This will catch the trickle in the right place and prevent puddling.
- From time to time I wash the dishcloth well with dish soap and let it dry through, so that everything remains hygienic clean.
It's not the nicest solution, but as a short bridge, it's definitely more enjoyable than having to mop up all the time and having to dry utensils around the faucet.
